As you can imagine, moving from India to the United States would be quite an adventure.  Moving to Maine from anywhere is a huge experience in culture shock!  There simply is no place like Maine!  My neighbors have told me that they plan to keep in touch with the friends and family that are still in India by subscribing to a long distance calling service to india.  They have ordered the long distance call service at the website www.trueroots.us.

This past weekend I had the chance to meet my new neighbors that moved into the house across the road.  I was glad to see someone move in there; the house has been sitting empty for so very long.  The house has had beautiful gardens that were neglected last summer because the owner took ill and died.  No one tended the gardens and they became forlorn looking.  So my new neighbors are from India!  Very nice young couple just moved here because the hubby has a new job in the local hospital.  It seems that a lot of our new medical professionals come from India!  

I think that we are going to be good friends; they’ve already invited us over for dinner this coming weekend!

My hubby said that his boss suggest that we check out some of the Park Resorts that they have in the UK; apparently he went to a couple the last time he was there and had a great time!  He told us to check out the different ones and see which one I would like to go to.  He gave me the link www.ecomparison.co.uk/parkresorts to check them out.  So I went to that link to see what was available, and there was a brief description of what the park resorts are and a button to click on for more information.  Unfortunately that button took me to an error message page so I couldn’t get more information.  I told hubby that when he goes to work today to see what he can find out about it because I couldn’t get any information about it at all.

My hubby came home last night and told me that his boss is sending us to the UK for a business trip.  He wants to send us for two weeks.  My hubby expressed a reluctance to go away for so long; after all he is a new father!  So his boss offered to pay for our baby and me to go with him.  All expenses paid!  I’ve always wanted to go to the UK!  So I’m very excited about the opportunity to go for free!

I’ve just learned about a language exchange website called www.xlingo.com.  The website is designed for people to communicate with each other while learning different languages.  The whole idea is that if I wanted to learn french I would sign up for the french forums, and I would be communicating with people who already speak french.  It’s a total immersion type of experience.
