Snowboard sale!

My hubby tells me that there is a clearance sale going on for Burton snowboards at www.buysnow.com!  I am going to have to go online and advantage of that sale to buy new snowboards for both of us. Buy Snow is a factory authorized dealer, and they have a 30 day price guarantee, and everything they sell is “ready to ship.” They have free shipping on orders over $99, a great selection and really good prices right now, so now is the time to buy! Maybe we’ll get them in time to use them a couple of times before the slopes close!

Love winter sports

One of the reasons that I moved to Maine was because I love winter sports!  I love to down hill ski, I love to cross country ski!  I love to snowboard!  I love to ice skate!  I love to snow shoe, and I love to go snowmobiling!  My hubby loves all of those things, too, so we are a great team!  Our favorite snowboarding mountain is Sugarloaf, although Sunday River is really good too!  It takes just about the same amount of time for us to go to either one, but we really like to eat dinner after a day on the slopes at One Stanley Ave Restaurant in Kingfield, so we tend to go to Sugarloaf.  We like to go during the middle of the week when the crowds are the smallest.

Interested in becoming a social worker

I’ve always been a champion for the abused, neglected, and downtrodden victims of today’s warped society. I’ve always wanted to be involved in social work. My hubby is encouraging me to finish my Master’s degree and take the social work licensing exam. I only have four classes to take to finish my degree, and the exam to pass. My hubby has suggested that I order the social worker exam guide from www.socialworkguide.com/ so I can take a look at it while I’m home on maternity leave.

I’ve gone onto the website and see that they have the guide for the Bachelor’s Exam, the Master’s Exam, and the Generalist Exam. I think I’ll order the one for the Master’s Exam.

A big health problem

A big health problem that most people have never even heard of around here is that a lot of people have too much arsenic in their well water!  When you buy a house around here, state law mandates that it be tested for unhealthy bacteria, but not arsenic!  I heard about the arsenic problem quite by accident and had our water tested.  Sure enough, we have too much arsenic in our water, so we had to buy a special filtering system to remove it.  There are different types of arsenic in water, and we had too much of both kinds, so the filter system was expensive and complicated.

Please have your well water tested for arsenic!

Taking advantage of end of season sales

I love to take advantage of end of season sales.  Living in Maine as I do, I am always on the lookout for extra warm clothing to keep me warm and cozy for winter, which seems to be most of the year!  The only month of the year that I don’t wear thermal underwear is July!  (Ok, and part of August!)  The North Face is having a great clearance on a 700 fill down filled jacket for women that I am going to order.  I just saw that they have it on sale for men, too!  It is lightweight and folds up into its own pocket.  I am a big fan of down filled jackets!  I’m going to order one for me, and one for my hubby!  They offer free shipping on orders over $50, so I’m sure to get free shipping on them!
