We have some very nice neighbors that winter over in Florida.  I’ve heard that people that do that are called “snowbirds!”  I think that’s funny!  While they are in Florida, we keep an eye on their house and let them know if anything is wrong.  They call us every week to keep in touch with us.

They called us yesterday and told us that they had a fire in their Florida home last week.  It damaged quite a bit of their house.  They are going to have to make an insurance claim, and they are concerned that the insurance company is not going to be reimbursing them fairly.  So they are hiring a company, the public adjusters that helps consumers to maximize their settlement.  They tell me that they have doing business for twenty five years, and that the company is comprised of a team of building engineers, construction consultants, contents specialists, lawyers, licensed and bonded insurance adjusters, financial consultants, and cost and valuation engineers.  They have helped clients to obtain settlements higher than 400% of the insurance companies’ original offers!  They take a pro-active approach and don’t wait for the insurance company to tell you what they will pay you.  They show the insurance company what they owe you!
