This past weekend we were invited to dinner at my hubby’s boss’s house.  He lives on “the hill” where the town’s wealthy people live.  We were wined and dined and given the “grand tour” of the place.  It IS a nice place.  While we were there he had to make a point of showing off his ”new Rolex” watch to both my hubby and me.  His wife leaned over and whispered in my ear that his “new Rolex” was REALLY a “replica rolex” he had bought on the Internet!  She told me that he had a hard time choosing between luxury replica watches from Rolex, Cartier, Omega and Chanel, but decided on the Rolex because that name seems to be better recognized as a “rich man’s watch!”

My hubby’s boss is all about status symbols.  Don’t get me wrong; I like the guy, I just sometimes have to wonder about his priorities!  He seems to be constantly trying to “prove himself” and “keep up with the Joneses” and showing off how wealthy he is.  He is one of those people who thinks that wealth equals success.  I kinda feel sorry for him, always trying to impress people with how much he has!

One of the reasons I have been fortunate enough to take a long maternity leave is because I am so frugal.  I look for ways to save money on everything that I do.  For example, I want to buy a new digital camera soon so I can take better (and more) pictures of our cute little baby!  So I will be looking on the Internet for a website that offers discount promotional codes for computers, electronics, software, digital cameras, DVD movies and video games.  There is a good website that does all of that at www.bestonlinecoupons.com.

This website offers thousands of coupons and discount codes from hundreds of vendors such as Circuit City, Best Buy and Staples, all three stores are places that I would consider when buying a new digital camera.

Some of the features that I like about this site is that it has links to “hot deals” which are deals that they think are “spectacular” compared to the other deals.  They also have a link to “new” offers and a link to offers that are expiring soon.  You can browse by merchant or by category, so it is a very user-friendly site.  I especially like being able to shop at home, so I don’t have to lug the baby to a store with me!
