Webmaster tools

My hubby’s boss was talking to my hubby and me today about their website, and how to improve their marketing through search optimization.  I suggested that they take a look at Website Office’s website at www.websiteoffice.com

That website is dedicated to explaining Internet marketing to website owners.  They cover subjects ranging from web hosting companies to website revenue.  They publish daily articles, so there is always something to be learned every day by checking their page.  One of the more interesting articles I’ve read recently was about three different types of online marketing; social networking, email marketing, and viral marketing.

I also found the article about linking strategies to improve search optimization most informative.

PETA wants to save the lobsters

I was reading that PETA wants to buy a local jail building (that is currently empty and for sale) and put it to use as a “lobster empathy” information site. Apparently PETA is concerned about the plight and suffering of the Maine lobster.

I have to wonder how much support PETA will actually receive for this cause they are pursuing. Maine lobster is a Maine icon! Don’t get me wrong, I don’t participate in the tradition of the Maine clam bake where people have a big party and steam lobsters and clams and eat until they can’t eat any more! The only way I like to eat lobster is if it has already been removed from the shell for me. I get the “willies” if I have to remove the lobster meat from the shell myself. I feel sorry for the critter that is looking at me! It would not bother me to become a vegetarian, if I could convince the rest of my family to do it with me, but that is not in the cards.

New Jersey vacations

My in-laws go to New Jersey each July for a week’s vacation.  They have relatives that they meet there, so they have a combination vacation on the Jersey shore and huge annual family reunion.  I’ve never joined them, as I have not been able to take the time off of work; however I am on maternity leave this summer, so I am planning on joining them on the annual family trek this year.

It has been probably twenty years since I’ve been to the Jersey shore, so I really did not know what kinds of things to do in New Jersey there are besides just sitting on the beach and walking a boardwalk to go buy an ice cream cone. (That’s all I remember doing as a child!)

I’ve done a little bit of online research and found some great !) I’ve done a little bit of online research and found some great Wildwood events. I found there is a free Radio Disney Summer Concert Series at Morey’s Piers in Wildwood New Jersey during the month of July. There will be a lot of top Radio Disney performers at the concerts. Since the family will be staying at one of theWildwood hotels, it should be easy to figure out a way to attend one of the free concerts.

I’ve also found that the Morey’s Piers are jam packed with amusement parks, water parks.  I knew that there were these types of things in New Jersey, but didn’t know the details.

It sounds like a great place to have a family vacation; I’m looking forward to going!

Cinnamon lowers blood sugar?

This may be old news to you, but today I met someone who was telling me that research indicates that cinnamon lowers blood sugar, and that was new news to me! Since my hubby is a diabetic, I was very surprised that his doctor had not passed that information on to us!

I just went online and “googled” the subject, and found a cbs news article about it; it appears to be true! Now I need more information as to how to dose it and administer it properly!  I also have a sister in law with diabetes, and it would be great if we could figure out how to use this information to help manage their blood sugar levels!
