Personalized stationary

I ‘ve been looking at family photos, and am thinking about ordering some Baby Christmas cardPhoto Card Stationary with our family’s photo on it to use for stationary.  There is a website that sells custom made photo cards; I can supply the photo and the verse that I want to have printed, and they print it off.  I think I’d like to have a picture of all of us, including the dog if possible on the card.  I’d like to pose all of us in front of the fireplace at camp.  I think that would be a great picture to have on a greeting card or stationary!

The next time we go out to camp, I think I’ll ask someone to snap a few pictures of us like that.   I think that on the front of the card I’ll have them print “From our family to yours” and inside I’ll have them leave it blank so I can use it as personal stationary and write whatever I want inside.  Maybe I’ll order some with some Christmas verse inside it, like “We wish you a happy and safe Holiday Season.”  I’ve included a picture of my favorite card style in this post, if you want to go see it directly you can see it by clicking here.

I love the smell of laundry dried outside

I got an early start on the laundry so that I can dry the sheets outside on the clothesline.  I can’t even begin to describe how much I love the smell of sheets that have been dried outside.  There is no commercial fabric softener out there that can duplicate the smell.  I love the first night of freshly laundered and line-dried sheets, the smell is so wonderful!  I just wish that hanging the laundry out to dry was easier!

Sister moving to Chicago

My sister tells me that her company is planning to promote her and relocate her to Chicago.  She has mixed emotions about it; she has often talked about wanting to move away from this small town state and experience life in a different part of the country.  So for her, this is a great chance to do that, especially since she is still single and not tied down with a hubby and kids to worry about.  This is the best time in her life to be experiencing things like this.  But, she is nervous because she will be moving by herself, and she doesn’t know anyone in the Chicago area. And she is nervous about finding Chicago apartments for rent.

I’ve found a website that I’m going to tell my sister to check out that is a free apartment locating service for the Chicago area.  It is called Apartmentsavvy.com and it is dedicated to helping apartment hunters find the right neighborhood and apartment.  It includes a map of the Chicago area neighborhoods with a chart of the rent price ranges.  They also have agents available to help her narrow down her search that can be called on the phone.  So that should be a good start.

Yard sale

Last night my mother-in-law approached me about having a two-family yard sale later this summer.  I think it’s a good idea; we both have lots of great usable items that we no longer need, and it would be fun to hold a lawn sale together.  I know it will be a lot of work, but it will be well worth it to find new homes for our things, and it will be a good way to clear up some much needed space in our basement.  So I’m going to take a look around and see what I can part with, and I’ll check with my hubby’s schedule and see what weekend is best for him and we will hold a yard sale!
