When I went out to the newspaper box

This morning when I went out to the newspaper box I found a small package in the box along with the newspaper.  Inside the package was a Colon Cleanse product, left as a “token gift” by one of my health conscious neighbors.  She has been coming over to my house a lot lately, trying to convince me to join her crusade to get and stay healthy.  One of the things she is convinced will help her/us in that crusade is by consuming products that will cleanse our colons.  I’ve been biting my tongue around her, not wanting to hurt her feelings, but I’m not personally interested in using any product that is going to make me need to spend anymore time in the bathroom than I already do!

I have heard conflicting opinions by “experts” who range in opinion about how often people should have to use the bathroom.  Some say that “elimination” should occur three or four times a day; some say once a day; some say a couple of times a week is fine.  From what I understand, as the solids move through the intestines, nutrients are absorbed into the body; when the nutrients are finished being absorbed then the waste is eliminated.  I’m in no hurry to rush the solids out so fast that the nutrients are not being properly absorbed!  Food and vitamins are too expensive, I want my body to absorb as much as it can, so as far as I’m concerned, those solids can just take their sweet time moving through my intestines!  I want my money’s worth!

It’s going to be a beautiful day today

According to the weatherman, it is going to be a beautiful day today. I think that I am going to pack a picnic lunch and take my mother-in-law and the baby out to the local park and have a nice picnic. Some cold fried chicken, some potato salad, some yeast rolls, some cheese and fruit. Yummy! Maybe I’ll see if we can convince my hubby to join us!

I love getting outside in the fresh air when the weather is this nice, not too hot, not too cold. There are several picnic tables in the park that are under cover, so we don’t have to worry about the baby getting sunburned, we can stay in the shade. After the picnic I think we’ll go to the local ice cream parlor and have a nice home-made ice cream cone. I love home-made ice cream!
