I was glad to read in yesterday’s newspaper that the pet owner who had neglected her animals to the point where many of them had died has been arraigned on cruelty and neglect charges.  It appears that she had abandoned her pets in a house when she moved.  She claims that she paid her neighbors to feed the pets, but the neighbors denied that ever happened.  Anyway, a lot of dogs and cats died from neglect, and it is an awful horrible story.  I’m glad that they have found and charged the owner, and I hope that she is is dealt with to the fullest extent of the law.  There is NO EXCUSE for neglecting pets that way!
