Police quality flashlight

My hubby came home with a package he had delivered to him at the office today.  Inside was a Surefire 6P flashlight that he had ordered from the lapolicegear.com website.  He was tickled to pieces to get it, he’s been wanting a police quality flashlight for a very long time.

Teething

Poor little baby is teething, and is miserable.  Running a fever, runny nose, crying a lot.  I’ve made an appointment with the doctor tomorrow to check his ears.  I’m suspecting that he has an ear infection and that the doctor can give him something for it.  Thank goodness for oragel and baby tylenol!

Services search engine

Realtors in San Antonio have discovered a new way to get the word out to their target market that they exist.  There is a new Internet search engine called clicksmart.com where you can search for certified experts in a variety of fields of services.  You can find a certified expert in almost any area of the United States in any of the following fields: contractors, home & office services, massage therapists, mortgage brokers, moving companies, weddings and events, florists, and realtors.  The site is easy to use; for example, if you want to find a San Antonio realtor you enter the field you are looking for and the zip code of San Antonio you want to find them in.  You will be surprised at how many results you will get!

Gave away an old computer

I recently gave one of our older computers to my niece, who needed a desktop computer.  There was absolutely nothing wrong with it at all, it was just a little bit “slower” than I wanted it to be.  But for her needs, it was perfect.  It was all hooked up in a spare bedroom, and worked fine.  My niece told me she would like to have it, so I cleaned off my personal files and did a defrag on it, and gave it to her.  Imagine my surprise when one week later she told me it was broken!  I can’t imagine why it would suddenly break!  So I told her to bring it back for me to see if I could figure out what was wrong (she’s technologically impaired) and she brings it back without the mouse, keyboard, or any cords.    GRRRRRRRRRRRRR.  It is going to be a pain in the neck to scrounge up spares to hook this up to check it out, and I don’t want to break down my own computer for the parts.  Sometimes I wonder about that girl!

Jean’s website

One of the things Jean was telling me during her visit was that she wants to have her own website for her new business that she is just starting. She has decided to open up a second hand store in town; she thinks that with the failing economy more people will be turning to buying gently used items instead of new items. She has just got the store up and running - in fact that was one of the reasons she stopped in - to invite me to come to her “official grand opening.” She wanted to let me know that she had some great baby items for sale, and she was offering to buy my used outgrown baby items.

Anyway, she wanted some help with her web design for her new business. I suggested that she check out Network Solutions. Network Solutions is a complete service website business - they will host the site and design it for you. They have several different packages to choose from, starting from as low as $499 for the Standard Package of web design and $11.95 a month to design and host a complete professional five page website. They also have a Premium package for a more involved website design for $1399, but I think that Jean would be happiest with the Standard Package to start out with. Once her business is up and running for a while, then she might want to upgrade to the Premium Package.
