Guys are all into the fantasy football teams. I don’t see the attraction to that contest. It’s all about numbers and statistics, and even though I’m very good with numbers, I’m just not that interested in all the football players and all the different teams.

To me, a true football fan picks one team and cheers for that one team every year – whether they have a good season or a losing season, a true football fan will cheer for their team through thick or thin.

When I was growing up, my father and grandfather were devoted Redskins fans. They watched the game on TV every Sunday afternoon. Throughout the fall and winter months we always went to church and then over to Grandma and Granddad’s house to eat Sunday dinner and watch the Redskins play football. It’s been a long time since I’ve watched a Redskins game. I wonder if they have a good team this year?

I understand that there was a big uproar recently over a comment that Barack Obama made about how you can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.  Some people think that he was calling Sarah Palin a pig!  I don’t think that at all!  I get so upset about how (during election years) everything one candidate says is scrutinized and turned around!  Seemed to me just an adage like ”you can call a rose by any other name, it is still a rose.”  Perhaps that is what Barack Obama SHOULD have said!  Hey Barack Obama, you should hire me as a consultant to your speeches!  Maybe I could keep you out of some hot water!
