I love to decorate

I really enjoy watching television shows and reading magazines on browsing websites that are dedicated to home decorating ideas.  I just really love to decorate, and I really enjoy seeing what other folks are doing to decorate their places.  I like to “borrow” some of their ideas and “tweak” them to make them my own style.  I like the mylifetime.com website because it has a lot of great home decorating tips, and they have a lot of other interesting features, such as a link to your horoscope, a link to articles and quizzes about relationships, and one of my absolutely favorite links – a link to a section about crafts.  I love to craft!  And if I can incorporate crafting into my decorating, I am in hog heaven!

A new warehouse grocery store

All of my friends are abuzz with excitement that they heard that a new warehouse-style grocery store has just opened up in town.  So I went to the store myself to see what all of the excitement was about.  I have to say that I was thoroughly underwhelmed.  You have to pay a quarter to use a grocery cart (which you get back if you bring the cart back to the store.)  There were no brands that I’d heard of at all in the store, and there were no shelves at all anywhere – just boxes and cartons stacked one on top of the other!  Yes, the milk was cheap, but not THAT much cheaper to warrant going there just for that.  And the store provides no shopping bags OR boxes to put your groceries in – you have to bring your own and bag your own.  They put the food back into the cart and you have to take the cart to a counter that runs alongside the store and you can use their counter to bag your own groceries.  NOT IMPRESSED!

Good resource for information on pets

I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for dogs and cats.  I enjoy having them around, and I like to read about them.  I enjoy learning as much as I can about the different breeds, and their health issues.  I’ve found a good website called Petwave.com that is quite the resource for learning a lot about dogs and cats.

I have been concerned recently about the large increase of barn cats in the area, and was reading up on Rabies in cats because I am concerned that these cats are not being properly cared for.  I think I’m going to be calling the local animal shelter and see if I can convince them to come out here and try to round up a few of these barn cats and immunize them through their vaccination program.

Hubby’s allergies

My poor hubby has been having a horrible time with his allergies this season.  I’ve been after him for years to go to the doctor and ask for allergy shots and he has resisted – he really hates needles!  I know lots of people that have had great luck with allergy shots, and I feel so strongly that he would really benefit from having them; it is very frustrating to see him suffer so much when there really could be a “quick fix” to the problem!

Water damage

One of the biggest problems home owners face here in New England is the possibility of their pipes freezing during the winter.  When the pipes freeze, they often burst and then when the water thaws there is often a messy flooded room to clean up.  It can really be bad if the situation happens when the homeowner is away on a vacation and the flooding happens while they are gone because no one knows it is happening and the water just keeps coming until the homeowner returns home to discover the problem and turn off the water.

This happens more often than most people realize, and one of the worst consequences of this situation, besides the water damage, is the possibility of a mold problem happening.  Water Restoration company specializes in Nationwide services related to this exact type of situation.  They will come into your home to clean up and fix flooding problems and will perform the necessary black mold removal procedures as well.
