Horse lovers and the dating scene

Just when you think you’ve heard of everything, you hear of a dating website for horse lovers!  My cousin Stacy tells me that she has found out about a dating club for horse lovers and she has taken advantage of their offer of FREE sign-up to see if she might be able to meet “Mr. Right.”  My hubby butted in with his “two cents” and said he thought she was more likely to meet “Mr. Ed!”  (Smart aleck!)

When we finished laughing, Stacy told me that she heard about the website from a friend of hers and she decided to check it out.  Stacy claims that it is a social networking group for horse lovers that want to meet other horse lovers, and it doesn’t have to just be people looking for romance, it could also be for people who just want to make new friends who share their love of horses. Besides, having an equestrian cupid might not be so awful!

Stacy has always loved horses and rides whenever she gets the chance.  She’s been talking about buying her own horse someday and has started to look around to see where she could board it when she gets one.  She’d love to find someone to go riding with!

Warm feet

My hubby gave me a pair Acorn Slippers yesterday.  The wool slipper socks that are so comfy and warm.  His boss brought them home with him from a business trip to Binghamton New York, where he had stopped in at Hank’s Clothing to say hello to an old friend.  While he was there he bought several pairs of the slippers because they were on sale for a good price.  It’s nice that his boss brings home gifts like that for his staff when he travels!

He said that he knew that I had been struggling to keep my feet warm, and with the cold snap we are having, he wanted me to have the slippers.  He said that his friend that works at Hanks recommended them for their warmth and comfort.

Philadelphia Plastic Surgeon website has good information about plastic surgery

I like to wear pierced earrings, but I tend to wear small and lightweight earrings.  I find that the large and heavy ones hurt my ears.  I always wonder how other women can stand wearing the heavy ones!  Every now and then I see someone who has a very large hole in their earlobe from their ear being stretched from wearing such heavy earrings!  I shudder when I see people like that!

I have a good friend Beth who was one of my college roomies.  Beth lives in Pennsylvania now.  She has worn so many heavy earrings in her pierced ears that she has actually ripped open one of her ears.  It looks terrible!  I thought that Beth was going to have to just live with that torn earlobe the rest of her life, but she called me and told me that she recently found out that there is a cosmetic surgery procedure that can be done to repair torn earlobes!

Beth told me to check out the website of the doctor that she wants to do the procedure; the website of the Philadelphia Plastic Surgeon Dr. Emily Pollard.  Dr. Pollard is Certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and the American Board of Surgery.  She is also the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Lankenau Hospital on the Main Line in Philadelphia.

I was just reading over her website and saw that she is highly educated and highly respected.  She certainly seems to be a great choice for my roomie to turn to!  I can’t wait to see a picture of how her ear looks after she gets it fixed!

I enjoy going to home tours

I love going to home tours.  Every now and then some kind of club will sponsor a home tour where people pay money to go through other people’s houses to see what the inside of their houses look like.  The money often goes to some kind of charity or good cause.  I like to go to them because it gives me the chance to get decorating ideas (and it lets me see how the wealthy people in the area live!)  There also is the chance that you might get some tasty refreshments and meet some nice people while you are at it!

Thanksgiving plans

We’ve been invited to hubby’s boss’s house for Thanksgiving dinner this year, and my hubby accepted the invitation.  It will be nice to go and not have to worry about making such a big meal for the holiday.  I seem to have my hands full with the baby and it is hard to get a whole lot done, now that he’s crawling around and getting into everything!   I hope they let us bring leftovers home - if not I’m going to have to get a turkey breast and cook that myself so we can have some turkey here at home for sandwiches.  As far as I’m concerned the leftovers are just as great as the original meal!
