There was a terrible accident on the lake this weekend.  A couple of hot shot teenage boys decided to race each other – one on a jet ski, the other in a motor boat.  The jet ski was winning, but the idiot who was driving it decided to cut in front of the boat.  I don’t know why, maybe to flaunt the fact that he was the winner!  But the skier lost control and fell off of the jet ski and the boat ran right over him!

The propeller of the boat hit the skier in the head.  He is miraculously still alive, but in serious condition at the hospital.  We don’t know if he is going to be all right or not.  I have to wonder if these kids were drunk or under the influence of drugs!  I can’t believe how stupid these kids can be!

One of the things that concern parents when they live so far from the big city is whether or not their children can get a good education.  Especially in the areas where so many schools are cutting back on their budgets.  Subjects such as Drama and Music education, along with sports programs often see the big budget cuts in favor of the basic “3 Rs” that are the core curriculum of so many schools.

I think that the children need to have some enrichment added to their lives, some culture, some lessons that go beyond the basics.  So I’m always pleased to learn of other ways that children can learn the things that are so often overlooked, or cut, from the school’s curriculum.  One of the greatest musical performance services that I’ve heard about from my friend Kevin, who is a music teacher in a local high school is the Music Education Resource website that includes services a variety of ways to help the kids to compose music, as well as to play it.

This summer has been unusually rainy so far. Doesn’t seem like a day goes by where it doesn’t rain! It is really hard to keep the lawn mowed and looking good because the lawn is so wet all of the time! Although it is possible to mow a wet lawn, it just doesn’t look as nice. A lot of people are acting cranky, too, from lack of sunlight I guess! And everyone that I know that suffers from arthritis has been telling me that they have been suffering a lot from the rainy weather. We don’t get a long summer here, so we are really feeling the pain of all of this rain!

As a young mother, you can imagine that I don’t always get to watch my favorite television shows when they are airing because my parental duties interfere with leisure time!  That’s why I was glad to find a great website -Spreety TV Online : Watch TV Shows Online Free.  This website lists television shows you can watch online for free – all in one quick easy location!  So I can find my favorite show – Burn Notice – for example without a lot of searching around the web!  I love it!

Just when you think you’ve heard of everything, you hear of a dating website for horse lovers!  My cousin Stacy tells me that she has found out about a dating club for horse lovers and she has taken advantage of their offer of FREE sign-up to see if she might be able to meet “Mr. Right.”  My hubby butted in with his “two cents” and said he thought she was more likely to meet “Mr. Ed!”  (Smart aleck!)

When we finished laughing, Stacy told me that she heard about the website from a friend of hers and she decided to check it out.  Stacy claims that it is a social networking group for horse lovers that want to meet other horse lovers, and it doesn’t have to just be people looking for romance, it could also be for people who just want to make new friends who share their love of horses. Besides, having an equestrian cupid might not be so awful!

Stacy has always loved horses and rides whenever she gets the chance.  She’s been talking about buying her own horse someday and has started to look around to see where she could board it when she gets one.  She’d love to find someone to go riding with!
